Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Renée Space app, website, and services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by 1000330291 Ontario Inc., carrying on business as Renée Space ("Renée Space," "we," "us," or "our"). By using Renée Space, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Renée Space is an AI-powered emotional companion — a place where you can talk, reflect, and process your thoughts and feelings. It is a wellness and emotional support tool, not a clinical service. While conversations with Renée may feel meaningful, Renée is not a licensed therapist, does not provide mental health treatment or diagnosis, and is not a substitute for professional counseling or crisis support.

Renée is an artificial intelligence, not a human. Renée will not claim to be human if sincerely asked. Responses generated by Renée are produced by a language model and may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your situation. You should not rely on Renée's responses as professional advice of any kind — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Renée Space. By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you do not, you are not permitted to use the Service.

To access Renée Space, you sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately at hello@reneespace.com.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. On deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You agree to use Renée Space responsibly and in good faith. You must not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, harassing, or deceptive purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or tamper with any part of the Service or its underlying technology.
• Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it, or interfere with other users.
• Use automated tools to access or scrape the Service without our written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its connected systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that misuses the Service.

When you use Renée Space, you share personal thoughts, feelings, and questions. You retain ownership of what you write. By using the Service, you grant Renée Space a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and use your content for the following purposes:

• To provide the Service to you, including generating Renée's responses and maintaining conversation continuity.
• To maintain and improve the quality of the Service.
• To train and improve AI models, as described in our Privacy Policy and subject to your opt-out rights described therein.

We do not sell your personal information or use your conversations to target advertisements. Aggregate or anonymized analysis may be used for research and product development.

Plans and Pricing

Renée Space is available on a free tier and as a paid Pro subscription. Available plans, billing frequency, and current prices are displayed at checkout. Prices are charged in USD or CAD depending on your region. We reserve the right to offer additional currencies in the future.

Automatic Renewal

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize Renée Space to charge your payment method on a recurring basis for the applicable subscription fee. The charge amount and billing frequency are shown at checkout and confirmed by email.

Free Trials

From time to time, we may offer free trials of Renée Space Pro. If we do, the trial length and applicable terms will be clearly disclosed before you start. Unless you cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan at the end of the trial and your payment method will be charged the then-current subscription price.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Manage Renée Pro page in your Profile. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access to Pro features until then. Cancelling does not delete your account or your data.

Refunds

All subscription fees are non-refundable except at Renée Space's sole discretion. If you believe exceptional circumstances apply, contact us at hello@reneespace.com and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.

Annual subscriptions are not eligible for prorated refunds if cancelled before the end of the annual period. Access continues until the end of the period for which you have paid.

Initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us may result in suspension of your account while the dispute is under review.

Price Changes

If we change the price of your subscription plan, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the new price takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the new price. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the new price applies.

Data Access After Cancellation

If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your conversation history and Pro features will not be accessible until your subscription is reactivated. Your data is not deleted on cancellation. You can reactivate at any time to regain access to your full history.

Renée is not monitored in real time and cannot detect or respond to emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or believe you are in immediate danger, seek help immediately:

Renée Space and all of its underlying technology, design, branding, and content — other than content you provide — are owned by 1000330291 Ontario Inc. and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our name, logo, or other proprietary materials without our prior written permission.

You retain ownership of the content you submit. The licence you grant us is limited to the purposes described in Your Content above.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information, including your rights over that data and your choices. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

Renée Space integrates third-party services including Google Firebase, Stripe, PostHog, OpenRouter, and Anthropic. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party service.

You may stop using Renée Space at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access — with or without notice — if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we decide to discontinue the Service in whole or in part.

If we shut down the Service entirely, we will provide reasonable advance notice and delete all personally identifiable data within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

Renée Space is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that responses generated by Renée will be accurate, helpful, or suitable for any particular purpose. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Renée Space and its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or in connection with:

• Your access to, use of, or inability to access or use the Service.
• Any content obtained from or generated by the Service.
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your account or data.
• Any emotional distress or harm arising from your use of the Service.

In all cases, our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Renée Space, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights. We will notify you promptly of any such claim. We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of the defense of any claim for which you are obligated to indemnify us, at your expense.

Informal Resolution First

Before filing any legal claim against Renée Space, you agree to contact us at hello@reneespace.com and give us 60 days to attempt an informal resolution. We will make a genuine effort to resolve the dispute fairly. This requirement does not apply to claims for emergency injunctive or other equitable relief.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Class Action Waiver

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that any dispute arising under or relating to these Terms will be brought solely in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class action, collective action, or representative proceeding. This waiver does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be waived by contract.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Renée Space with respect to the Service and supersede all prior written and oral agreements on the same subject. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms stay in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right. No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created between you and Renée Space as a result of these Terms. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights to any affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, without your consent. You are responsible for any taxes or duties arising from your use of the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes — including changes that affect your rights, our liability, or the dispute resolution process — we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms. For minor or clarifying changes, we will update the date at the top of this page without separate notice.
