When you sign up for Renée Space, we currently collect basic information through Google Authentication. This includes your name, email address, and a unique identifier associated with your Google account. This allows us to create and maintain your account securely and personalize your experience within the app. As we continue to improve Renée, we plan to ask for additional details — such as your preferred name, pronouns, gender, and age — to offer a more tailored experience. We may also provide an option to save your chat history, with the ability to opt out at any time. In addition to this personal information, we collect data related to how you use Renée. This includes general usage patterns like session length, device type, and which features are used. We do not collect precise location data, but we may record regional information (such as country or city) to understand where our users are coming from and improve accessibility. To better understand how people use the app and identify areas for improvement, we use Google Analytics. This tool collects anonymized information about your device, how long you use the app, and which features you interact with. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by using this tool.

The information we collect is used to provide you with a safe, personalized, and meaningful experience. We rely on it to authenticate your login, customize the app’s responses, and improve the overall performance and usefulness of the service. We may also analyze aggregated, anonymized data to guide future product decisions and improvements. Your chats are never shared with third parties, and we do not sell your personal information. If we use your data for research or analytics, it is always de-identified and used in aggregate form only.

Your data is stored securely on cloud infrastructure, such as Google Cloud and Firebase. We use encryption and access controls to protect your information both during transmission and at rest. While we take these precautions seriously, no system is completely immune to risk. By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept this.

Only a limited number of people on our team have access to your data, and only for specific purposes — such as resolving technical issues or improving the app. Any third-party service providers we work with are contractually bound to protect your data in compliance with industry standards.

We believe you should have full control over your information. You have the right to request access to the data we hold about you, ask for corrections, delete your account, or request that your information no longer be used. You can also choose to opt out of chat history saving once that feature becomes available.

If you're located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CPRA. These include the right to be forgotten, the right to data portability, and the right to object to how your data is processed. Renée Space is operated from Canada, but users may access the app globally. If you are located outside of our operating country, your data may be transferred to — and processed in — a country with different privacy protections than your own. We do our best to meet international privacy standards regardless of where you live.

We retain your personal data only for as long as it’s needed to provide the Service, fulfill our legal obligations, or improve the product. If you choose to delete your account or request that we delete your data, we will do so within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes or legal requirements. When we do, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date above and notify you if the changes are significant. By continuing to use Renée Space after these changes, you agree to the revised policy.

Renée Space is provided “as is.” While we do our best to keep the app running smoothly and reliably, we can’t guarantee uninterrupted access or that everything will always work perfectly. We also make no promises about the accuracy or helpfulness of responses generated by the app, and using the Service is at your own discretion and risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Renée Space and its creators are not liable for any harm, emotional distress, or damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, even if we’ve been advised that something could go wrong.

You agree to indemnify and hold Renée Space, its affiliates, officers, agents, employees, and partners harmless for and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages (actual and consequential), losses and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising from or in any way related to any third party claims relating to (a) your use of the Services (including any actions taken by a third party using your account), and (b) your violation of these Terms. In the event of such a claim, suit, or action (“Claim”), if you have an account, we will attempt to provide notice of the Claim to the contact information we have for your account (provided that failure to deliver such notice shall not eliminate or reduce your indemnification obligations hereunder).

You may stop using Renée Space at any time. Similarly, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we decide to discontinue the app. In the event of shutdown, we will delete all personally identifiable data within 30 days unless required otherwise by law.
